Rev. James H. Christian
CO-PASTOR

Pastor Jim is a native Delawarean. He graduated from Conrad High School in 1964. He is also a graduate of Northeastern Bible College with a BA in Bible and Bachelor of Theology degree. It was at Northeastern that he met Gail Lincoln and they were married in 1969. Pastor Jim began his ministry in 1968 as Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Millburn, New Jersey, serving there until 1973. He became part of the staff at Northeastern Bible College in 1969 serving as Director of Christian Service for two years and Dean of Men for three years. During that entire period of time he also served as Director of Athletics at Northeastern. Pastor Jim also served as College and Career Pastor at Brookdale Baptist Church from 1973 to 1974. The Christians were called to Faith Baptist Church in 1974 where Pastor Jim assumed the responsibility of Associate Pastor.

While ministering at Faith, Pastor Jim and Gail were called by God to serve as cross-cultural missionaries. They were appointed as missionaries to Chile under the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) in 1980. Faith Baptist Church was their sending church and remained deeply involved in their missionary ministry through their years in South America. Their ministry in South America involved church planting, field administration, Missionary Children's education, and serving as Bible Institute Director and professor. From 1995-1998 Pastor Jim and Gail served as Area Administrative Associate for ABWE in the Southern Cone of South America. They traveled and ministered extensively in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. The Christians returned to the pastoral ministry at Faith Baptist Church in 1998, with Pastor Jim once again assuming the position of Associate Pastor. They continue a voluntary relationship with ABWE, traveling to the Southern Cone for up to six weeks a year and spending one day per week at ABWE's headquarters in Harrisburg, PA, helping in field administration. Currently, Pastor Jim is the Co-Pastor of Faith Baptist Church.

Pastor Jim and Gail are blessed with three wonderful daughters and sons-in-law: Terri and David Fisher, Jennifer and Mark Rubin, and Stephanie and Pedro Garcia. They also have eleven very special grandchildren.

Pastor Tony and his wife Gale, married in 1986, have five children: Nathanael, Jeremiah, Ruth, Anna, and Caleb.

Rev. Juan Carlos Navarro
HISPANIC PASTOR

Juan Carlos was born in Reynosa, Mexico. He is the oldest of 10. He first heard the gospel at age 8. He and his wife Dora married in 1978. Soon after that they moved to Houston, Texas and started attending a Baptist church. On December 6, 1981, as the Lord would have it, Juan Carlos and Dora both accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord and were later baptized together in 1982.

Carlos soon felt the Lord calling him for special service in His Kingdom. He started attending a Baptist Seminary extension school and in 1984, preached his first sermon. In February 1986 Juan Carlos was called to be the Pastor of a new work in a small town in Texas. He was ordained to the ministry in November 1986.

Pastor Navarro went to the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary from 1989-1993. He was the Valedictorian at Graduation. He came to the East to serve as Pastor of a new work in Willowdale Chapel in Kennett Square. The Lord used Carlos and Dora in starting this new group and after six years, they felt it was time to move ahead and start again. The Lord then led them to Faith Baptist Church in April 2000 where he now serves as the Spanish Pastor. Pastor Navarro leads a Sunday morning Spanish-Speaking Sunday School Class, a Sunday evening Spanish-Speaking Church, and small group Bible studies in homes, including every Wednesday evening.
