A Little History...
Children's ministries have been central in Faith Baptist's outreach into the community. In 1967, Pioneer Girls and Boy's Brigade brought many into the doors at Faith. In 1975, these ministries were replaced by Awana Clubs. Faith has grown to having one of the largest Awana programs in the area, serving well over 150 children and their families. In the 80's, the church added Word of Life Clubs for the teens, which has allowed our young people to grow both in their faith and in the talents and abilities with which the Lord has gifted them. |

Youth Ministries at Faith Baptist Church |
 |
"Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19:14)
Faith Baptist Church offers programs that help young children, pre-teens and teens grow in their walk with the Lord. If you have questions regarding any of the ministries below, please contact the church office.
| Awana Cubbies (Children Ages 3-4) |
Awana Cubbies is a two-year weekly club program for preschoolers in the two years prior to kindergarten. Our purpose is to help a child take their first little steps on a lifelong spiritual journey. In the Bible, parents are instructed to teach their children about God’s ways - in routine activities - passing along their faith, little by little, day by day. The Cubbies program is designed to help parents in this critical role.
The teaching begins at home. Each week, we encourage the parents to help their Cubbie complete the scheduled Bear Hug. This entails a story and a Bible verse to learn for the upcoming week. Each aspect of the Bear Hug reinforces the same Bible truth. At club, we center everything we do on the same truth that they have worked on at home. Our story, games, activities, even our snack will reinforce the teaching the children have received that week. By creating this partnership, we hope to really "cement" that week’s truth into our Cubbies’ minds!
Our club starts every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. with a coming in and play time. Following this is a "getting to know you" time, singing, puppets, and Bible story time. We then divide into three groups to say verses, do a craft, and have a snack. We gather back together at the end of club for awards (when scheduled) and our closing song time. Cubbies are full of energy and excitement and we count it a privilege to work with these wonderful children.
Meeting time: Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: FBC Back Hall |
| Awana Sparks (K-2nd Grade) and Truth & Training (3rd-6th Grade) |
Children moving into kindergarten can also move up into the next level of Awana - Sparks. When they are in the third grade, they can move into the Awana Truth & Training program (T&T). The entire Awana program maintains a strong Bible focus and teaches young boys and girls how to live godly lives.
Sparks and T&T also meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and their time is divided into three periods:
| 1. |
Handbook Time is when the young boys and girls meet in age-appropriate classes to study and recite the Word of God. |
| 2. |
Council Time is a group time for songs, awards and a Bible lesson. |
| 3. |
Game Time is a period where the kids meet in the gym to compete in fun games, and win prizes! |
Meeting time: Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: FBC Back Hall |

Activities and Ministries
There's always something going on for our teens! See our monthly calendars posted in the teen room, or our youth bulletin board in the back hall. You can also view our teen calendar online.
The Ambassadors of Faith Student Ministry (AOF) also participates in Word of Life activities and uses the Word of Life Quiet Time Diary as a daily devotional. Each year there are two one-week trips to Word of Life camp in Schroon Lake, New York where the teens fellowship, play sports, participate in activities, and learn God's Word among the beauty of His wonderful creation! The teens also participate in the Word of Life ministry competition Teens Involved, focusing on deveoping a person's talents and abilities for the Lord. To learn more about Word of Life, please click here to visit their web site.
We encourage all teens at Faith Baptist Church to be a part of this exciting ministry!
